American Tortoise Rescue no longer provides rehoming or assistance with adoptions except in rare cases or for special needs turtles. This is because there are many rescues now where there were not when we became to first national rescue. Our time is spent with a dedicated commitment to education, legal issues facing turtles and tortoises and expanding World Turtle Day® activities on May 23rd annually. If you are interested in adopting or need to place a turtle or tortoise, please contact the following sites or individuals for help. A listing for all 50 states and foreign countries is below. You may also want to post a photo, name, age and contact information at your local veterinarian's office and pet stores. Do not use Craigslist.com
