How to Volunteer

We need adults and children to help build things like ponds and walls and other structures at the rescue. We can also use donated building materials, Reptamin (turtle food), towels, and postage. To volunteer, print out the form below and mail or email to info@tortoise.com.
 

Here are some real winners!

Susan Tellem and Marshall Thompson, founders of American Tortoise Rescue in Malibu, hosted 30 dads and daughters from the Placentia/Yorba Linda YMCA Trailmates who held a car wash and donated more than $300 as well as helped the rescue by building a new habitat and planting edible flowers for the turtles and tortoises. Tellem and Thompson took everyone on a tour of the rescue and taught them Basic Turtle Care 101.

How to Volunteer

We need volunteers to pick up turtles and transport them to the office, shelter, or vet. (We need you no matter where you live in Southern California because calls come from all over.) We need help making phone calls to legislators. And if any of you have experience in fund raising and grant writing, we certainly need your expertise.
